Macarena is an artist who draws inspiration from the many places she has visited and lived, including London, Houston and Sydney. She incorporates the unique colours of the landscapes, oceans, and skies she has seen around the world into her work, and expresses herself in classical form in a variety of ways, ranging from large impressionistic landscapes and waterscapes to fun, quirky illustrations.
Macarena expresses emotion deftly using reflections and light allowing the viewer to 'step into the painting' and write his/her own paragraph. In the same way, her drawings are intuitive and expressive. Macarena believes children see magic, a quality she infuses into her drawings with humour and charm.
Macarena has had several solo exhibitions and her artwork is held in private collections around the world. Some clients or places her artwork is displayed include:
Dr. Richard Andrassy, M.D. Head of Medical Dept Surgery at the University of Texas
Dr. Mary Shinn M.D., Houston plastic surgeon
Mark and Shannon Wallace, CEO of Texas Children's Hospital
Barker College Chapel
Macarena has been selected as guest artist for the Sydney Children's Hospital charity auction in 2015 and in 2016.
The Raise Foundation and the Rett Syndrome Association Australia 2018. Charity work is close to Macarena's heart and she is honoured to contribute to such worthwhile causes.
